Matrix Rain
Dial up the downpour. Adjust falling-code density, speed, color and glow; open Advanced to tune 3D depth and depth strength.
Your desktop, alive. Falling snow, swimming fish and flickering fire are rendered in real time using Apple’s Metal graphics technology—not replayed from a movie. Turn up the Matrix rain, ease the snow into a flurry, or bring more fish to your reef.
Coming soon · Live animation on Apple Silicon · macOS 13+

From a snowy rush to a gentle flurry. Move the Snow Amount slider, then shape fall speed, wind and flake size. Advanced controls refine depth and atmosphere.
A different kind of weather: drifting particles over atmospheric artwork.
A reef that moves with you. Increase or decrease the live-rendered fish population, adjust swim speed, and tune the schools’ depth and spread.
Apple Metal renders flickering fire live, bringing a fireside atmosphere to your workspace.

Pause whenever you want. Choose Eco for a lower target frame rate. The current version holds a still image on battery and resumes animation on eligible AC power; thermal and system safeguards still apply. Performance and energy use vary by Mac and settings.
Live animation requires Apple Silicon. Intel Macs use still-image wallpaper, not the live renderer. The current app targets macOS 13 or later; desktop widgets require a compatible macOS version.
The current version pauses animation on battery. It can also hold a still image because of Pause, Reduce Motion, or power and thermal safety rules. Eligible AC power allows animation to resume. See troubleshooting.
